Four leaders from the Kiribati Girl Guides Association (KIGGA) in Kiritimati island will be launching a groundbreaking training event, the first ever to be held outside Kiribati.
This Pacific gathering will take place in Suva, Fiji, later this month, with the KIGGA leaders departing from Kiritimati Island this week.
The training is organized by the Asia Pacific region and the Fiji Girl Guides Association.
It will be attended by representatives from several Pacific nations, including Tonga, the Solomon Islands, Fiji, the Cook Islands, Papua New Guinea, and Kiribati.
In a press release, KIGGA expressed gratitude to its supporters, including Members of Parliament from Kiritimati: Hon. Mikarite Temari, Hon. Teribwa Tabe, and Hon. Jacob Teem, Mayor Naatua Teiti and the Kiribati Oil Company Limited (KOIL) for their contributions to making this training possible.
