The Ministry of Environment, Lands, and Agricultural Development, through the Environment and Conservation Division, celebrated a significant milestone with the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Material Recovery Facility at Betio Wharf last Wednesday.
The ceremony included a traditional blessing conducted by the elder of Betio Village and remarks from Minister Ruateki Tekaiara, who highlighted that this event marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the project.
Minister Tekaiara expressed gratitude to the government of New Zealand and the Kiribati Port Authority for their support and contributions to this important initiative.
