The SPC Regional Integrated Ocean Management Workshop took place from October 28 to November 1, attended by three GeoScience officers representing the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources Development.

The workshop aimed to unite Pacific island nations in addressing shared challenges and opportunities in ocean management. Key focuses included strengthening regional cooperation and coordination, building capacity in areas such as marine spatial planning and ocean science, enhancing the connection between science, policy, and traditional knowledge, and developing effective strategies for implementing national ocean policies.

The Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources Development expressed its gratitude to the SPC, Pacific Ocean Commissioner, European Union in the Pacific, U.S. State Department, and New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade for their support of this important initiative.
