“Construction Advances on the McKenzie Brine Outfall “

Construction works on the McKenzie brine outfall are currently underway and is soon to be completed.

The STWSP reported that the works involve reef excavation by heavy machinery and the laying and connection of pipelines that are running from the plant down into the reef and continue on into the ocean as the pathway for the brine outfall.

The brine is the product salted water released from the desalination plant after a purification process undertaken by the plant of seawater into pure water
