A team from the Kiribati Seafood Verification Agency (KSVD) and a local contractor recently visited Tamana Island to launch the Water Improvement Project at the island’s fish center.
During their visit, they conducted a preliminary survey to prepare for the installation of a new water treatment system. This upgrade will enhance water quality, ensuring it meets both national and international export standards.
The project will provide contaminant-free, potable water for cleaning fish catches and making ice. The team expressed gratitude to the Mayor, Island Clerk, and Tamana Fishermen’s Cooperative for their support, and they acknowledged PACER Plus for its essential financial backing.
