The Ministry of Environment, through the Kiribati Environment and Conservation Division, held a plastic seedling exchange program on TUC from Tanaea to Eita last Thursday, September 12th.
The ministry reported that participants were able to exchange their plastic waste for seedlings, including cabbage and cucumber.
In total, 70.109 kilograms of plastic waste were collected, and 589 seedlings were distributed.
Looking ahead, the plastic seedling exchange program will continue with upcoming events scheduled for Taborio to Bairiki Village on October 10th, and Betio Village on November 26th.
